Dutch authorities have detained two individuals accused of using counterfeit EURC tokens to purchase genuine Rolex watches. The investigation commenced when luxury watch sellers, believing they had received legitimate cryptocurrency payments, handed over their products.

Yes, officials reported that the suspects contacted sellers through one of the Netherlands’ major online marketplaces, Marktplaats. The parties allegedly agreed on payment with EURC for the luxury timepieces. Initially, the crypto assets transferred by the buyers appeared authentic but were later discovered to be fake tokens.
