XRP price surged more than 16% on August 21, reclaiming $1.39 thanks to bullish market-wide developments and XRP Ledger (XRPL) upgrade advancements.
Specifically, a record wave of short liquidations recorded the day prior added hundreds of billions to the industryβs market cap within just 24 hours, increasing risk appetite.
In addition, XRP volume more than doubled on August 21, following an announcement that Ripple, Clearpool, and Cicada Partners would collaborate on an institutional credit infrastructure on the XRPL.Β

In response to our prompt, ChatGPT argued that XRP could extend the ongoing rally into next month, potentially reaching $1.4-$1.65 by September 1, 2026, in the base-case scenario based on current market momentum and key technical levels.
A more bullish scenario would see XRP break decisively to the $1.7-$2 zone, especially if a strong market environment persists. Among the most important catalysts in this scenario would be a strong Bitcoin (BTC) and sustained derivatives demand.
However, XRP could also face a significant correction following its rapid recent gains. In a bearish scenario, the price could retreat toward $1.15-$1.3 before attempting another recovery.Β

Whatβs also notable is that even the most bearish prediction would still not erase all of XRPβs gains this week, as the lowest price generated by the chatbot, $1.15, is still comfortably above $1, which is where the asset has mostly been hovering for the past month.
