The so-called “OG” coins like Cardano (ADA) and Algorand (ALGO) are seeing strong momentum as the crypto altseason starts. In this context, Finbold asked an artificial intelligence (AI) model whether ADA or ALGO makes a better buy for 2025.
Notably, Cardano so far got the best in price performance, as money starts rotating from large-caps to small-caps.
ADA trades at $1.05 with a $36.80 billion capitalization, up 76% year-to-date and over 200% in a month. Meanwhile, ALGO sits at nearly $0.30 with a market cap of $2.47 billion, up 33% year-to-date and 147% in the last 30 days.
xAI’s Grok 2 weighs in on ADA vs. ALGO as a better buy for 2025
Seeking up-to-date insights, Finbold decided to use xAI’s Grok, a subsidiary of Elon Musk’s X Corp, considering its real-time analysis capacities to scan the web and X while returning the outputs.
Interestingly, Grok acknowledges Cardano’s rigorous peer-reviewed research-driven development process and Algorand’s founder Silvio Micali’s reputation as a Turing Award winner. In the AI words, these factors contribute to two solid projects in the field of cryptography, attracting academic interest.
Moreover, xAI’s model mentioned the scalability and sustainability of both chains as key advantages, bringing technical innovations to the space. However, while Algorand offers higher speed and efficiency, Cardano thrives with higher adoption and a more active community, Grok highlighted.
As for the disadvantages, Cardano suffers from slow development and execution of its promises when compared to its competitors. Algorand, on the other hand, suffers from a slow adoption rate and market recognition, according to Grok AI sources.
ADA and ALGO price predictions
Looking ahead, Finbold asked Grok for an ADA and ALGO price prediction for the end of 2025, considering this context. Analysts forecast they will reach an average price of $1.32 and $0.436 by the next year-end, respectively.
ADA could fluctuate between $0.782 and $1.27, while ALGO will range from $0.272 to $1.07.
In closing, Grok believes Cardano is a better buy than ALGO, given current market trends, ecosystem growth, and price appreciation. Yet Algorand offers technical advantages, leveraging speed and efficiency to applications that could position it ahead of ADA in the long run.
The cryptocurrency market can be extremely volatile, liquidating overexposed traders, and capital is expected to rotate among different cryptocurrencies, offering savvy investors renewed opportunities after some missed ones as long as the bull market lasts.
